Marti Adkins has been with Applied Specialties Inc. (ASI) since October 2013 and serves as our A/P Analyst. Before ASI, she worked as a Financial Analyst for Republic Steel and has maintained a role as the Bookkeeper/Controller for a machine shop for the past 21 years which will be ending when they close for retirement at the end of this year.
Marti takes pride in her work, is accountable in her duties, and loves what she does. Her favorite thing about her job is the satisfaction of making sure things are done accurately and on time.
She has one adult child, Emma, who is an avid animal lover currently with 5 dogs, 8 cats, and several freshwater fish tanks in addition to many snakes and reptiles. Many of the animals in the household are rescues from Friendship Animal Protective League, where they also foster animals.
Marti and her husband, Tony, will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary on October 15th this year and she cannot wait to start the next twenty-five years with him.
During her free time, Marti likes to help friends who need cleaning, decluttering, and home office assistance. She also enjoys:
- flea markets, consignment shops, and finding things that bring her joy
- spending quiet time at home with her family and many pets
- making fleece blankets as gifts for friends and charities
- and playing games on her iPhone – she says it keeps her brain going!
Marti holds an Associates degree in both Applied Business and Human Resource Management from the Ohio Business College and takes pride that she accomplished the dream of earning a college degree at fifty years of age.
